Inspection FAQ

Why use a drone for inspection instead of traditional methods?+
Drones eliminate scaffolding, bucket trucks, and rope access — reducing inspection cost and eliminating worker fall risk. A commercial rooftop or tower inspection that takes a crew several hours can be completed in 30–60 minutes. High-resolution imagery provides documentation far superior to handwritten notes.
What resolution imagery will I receive?+
We deliver high-resolution images (20 MP+) from the onboard camera. For tower and close-proximity inspections, we use zoom capability to capture detail at safe standoff distances. All images include GPS coordinates and timestamps, delivered via secure cloud download within 24 hours.
Can a drone inspect an energized electrical structure?+
Yes. Operating at safe standoff distances from energized equipment is one of the primary advantages of drone inspection. For combined thermal + visual electrical inspection, a dual-sensor payload captures both simultaneously — identifying both visual wear and thermal hotspots in a single flight.
Do I get a written report?+
Yes. Every inspection includes an annotated PDF report with GPS-tagged imagery, observations, and any deficiencies noted during the inspection. Reports can be formatted to match your specific documentation requirements or work order system.
Are you FAA certified for commercial inspections?+
Yes. All flights are conducted under Curtis's FAA Part 107 Commercial Remote Pilot Certificate. LAANC authorization is obtained automatically for controlled airspace. Full flight documentation and logs are available upon request.
